The apostolic mission of the Congregation is the care of mentally ill patients, the physically and mentally handicapped, elderly people with psychic problems, and patients with other diseases, according to the needs of different places and the evolution of the times. Some criteria, which guide the mission, are:
- The person who is suffering is the centre of hospitaller action.
- The offer of assistance combines science and humanisation, and keeps in mind all dimentions of the person.
- The prefered options are persons not well endowed economically, and those in greatest need.
- Respect for life and the defence of life, the principles of ethics and catholic morale guide the caring activity.
- All the persons involved in this work: nurses, relations, workers, volunteers and religious, form one hospitaller community.
